No God Know God

No God Know God

The wave of atheism was on the increase in south India, especially in Kerala. One day, in an open-air meeting, a man from audience got up and declared, "You talk of God, but where is God? Believe me, there is no God! God is a superstition. God is an opiate. God is an imaginary being created by priests and Brahmins to rob the people of money. There is no God!" Holding up a watch in his hand, he threw an open challenge, "If God really exists, let Him strike me dead within three minutes!" A wave of suspense swept over the meeting. The people were all lost in thought! What was going to happen now? Two minutes had passed, two minutes and a half, two minutes and forty five seconds, two minutes fifty seconds… three minutes were over!.

And he announced triumphantly to the people, "You see, God does not exist. If God existed, He would have struck me dead! I threw an open challenge at Him, and if God really existed, I would not be alive now!" The people were  misled. They all began to exclaim, "There is no God!"

Also present in that meeting was a holy man of God – Sadhu Itiwara. He was a homeless wanderer who  moved from place to place, carrying with himself, the Gospel of the love of God. He found that the simple people had been swayed. They had come under the influence of this man who said there was no God. He got up and said to the people, "Never forget that the God is your Mother. God loves you more than your earthly father and mother love you. Tell me which father would strike his son dead only to prove that he existed?" A tremendous wave of relief swept over the people. They declared in one voice, "God is! He loves us more than an earthly father would love his son. That is why He has not struck this man dead!"
